Dover Light – big drifter at Doncaster
DOVER LIGHT, the stable’s only winner since resumption, is very weak in the 1.50 at Doncaster today as is Billy Button in the 6.30 at Lingfield. The two Harper Lodge Farm inmates are 50/1 and 33/1 respectively.
The former is ridden by George Downing in a 7f handicap but has drifted right out in the market even though the form of his win was franked when the runner-up subsequently won.
Billy Button is one of 13 runners in a 6f handicap on the turf at Lingfield and he is not well drawn in 10. Disappointing last time, he has shown ability and this is his first run since being gelded. Sophie Ralston claims five pounds.
The yard is not firing at present but hopefully, one or both horses will outrun their huge price.
