BLACKBURN FROM LEEDS WINS SHARE IN GUNNING FOR GLORY!

Richard Hughes announces the winner

TWO tickets bought for £5 each and just after 4.30pm yesterday, Mr John Blackburn from Leeds became the latest recruit to racehorse ownership after winning ticket 1362 was plucked out of the “hat” by Richard Hughes.

A Mr Blackburn from Leeds…now that’s what you call crossing The Pennine Divide!

Interest in the 1/12th share in a racehorse raffle, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care proved a tremendous hit at Sandown and Gunning For Glory certainly looked the part in his paddock parade before racing started.

Solario Racing sponsored the fifth race on the card, the Solario Racing Twelfth Share Syndicates Nursery and although owners, Fran Hazeldine, Gwen Thomas and Mary West gave the Best Turned Out to Entwined, it was the hot favourite, Law Enforcement, which duly obliged.

Winning jockey, Richard Hughes, who rode a treble on the card, still had time to draw the winning ticket and if John Blackburn wasn’t already having a good day at Sandown, he certainly was once he’d heard he was the lucky winning owner!

Solario Racing was delighted to be a sponsor at Sandown’s Solario Meeting and there was plenty of interest in our Yearling Parade on Sunday 14 October.  If you are thinking of becoming a racehorse owner, why not come along?
