MID WINTER BUSINESS AS USUAL AT CROPREDY LAWN

At exercise last Wednesday

Sugar Train upsides the Kalanisi

WINTER has definitely arrived at Cropredy Lawn with last week witnessing plenty of frosts and freezing temperatures but the show rolls on and the horses were out as usual.

Those who bet on snow falling on Christmas Day will have been disappointed and lighter in the pocket but during the last fortnight, signs of ‘proper’ winter have appeared with freezing temperatures and snowfalls leading to plenty of inspections and inevitably some abandonments.

Nowadays most trainers have all-weather gallops which can withstand seriously low temperatures and Cropredy Lawn is no exception with a wonderful 6 1/2 furlong polytrack gallop allowing the horses to exercise every day.

Two of those horses are SUGAR TRAIN and the unnamed KALANISI 4yo who comprise the new syndicate, Cropredy Lawn Racing. The former has several possible bumper engagements during the coming three weeks while the “Kalanisi” gets named this coming Saturday and will make his debut in March.

The syndicate comprises just 20 shares and all owners receive 1/20th of all prize money and eventual sale proceeds as well of course as having plenty of good days at the stables and the races!
