VETERAN MERCIAN PRINCE is today bidding for his 10th chasing win and his 13th win in total when lining up at Newton Abbot (2.52pm) in a four-runner 2m 1/2f handicap chase.
The 11yo has been a fabulous servant for the yard, having won 12 races in 53 starts at a fabulous strike rate of 22%. The son of Midnight Legend is an enthusiastic front-runner, is in good form and has an excellent chance of adding to his tally at around 5/2. Jack Quinlan rides. Favourite, Bathiva is an obvious threat in a tight little contest.
