THE chestnut two-year-old by exciting stallion Thewayyouare is known as “Major” in the yard at Dean Ivory’s and he is progressing nicely although like all of us, frustrated at the wet weather this year!
Some of his owners were up yesterday to see him cantering and he was out doing plenty in the canter circle with an older horse who acted as lead. He was full of beans early on and his rider did well to sit his bucks but after a few laps, his back was down and he cantered nicely, firstly behind his companion and then upsides.
As with so many youngsters at other yards, “Major” and Dean’s other 2yos are a little behind schedule due to the weather but he’ll soon make up for lost time. He moves well and certainly has a lovely attitude but has just that bit of “edginess” one likes to see in a young horse.
Oh and if you’re wondering why he’s called Major, his dam is Major Minor (clever huh?) but the horse will be officially named during the coming weeks. We do have limited shares available, so if you wish to get involved from the start in an exciting 2yo (including the naming process) please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email us at info@solarioracing.com to arrange a private viewing of him on the gallops.
