Dark Magic – good chance at Lingfield
DEAN sets a poser today with Dark Magic and Soaring Spirits both contesting the 2.25 at Lingfield, a 12-runner 7f handicap but the former would appear to be the “number one” at least according to the betting.
“Magic” is 4/1 favourite while “Spirits” is on the drift and an outsider at 22/1. Rob Hornby rides the jolly and Franny Norton, who has won on Spirits before, is aboard the chestnut. Dark Magic has been a little unlucky not to have won his second career race before now, so hopefully, he can reward his supporters today.
The stable also runs Nezar at Lingfield (3pm) in another 7f handicap and the mount of Jack Duern, although weighted to run a big race is weak in the market at 25/1. He’d have an each-way squeak if running to his best.
