MABEL BACKED TO BREAK DUCK

Jack Duern – rides both stable runners at Yarmouth

OLIVE MABEL, one of two Dean Ivory runners at Yarmouth today has been well supported in the market from 5/1 into 7/2 to break her duck at the eighth time of asking under Jack Duern.

She is one of eight runners in the mile handicap and this is only her second run on turf.  Having been running well recently on the all-weather over 7f, she is back up to a mile and the heavy going on the course of yesterday has improved to Soft, Good to Soft in places.  If she handles the going, the 3yo Captain Gerard filly should not be far away.

Dor’s Law is one of six to go to post in the 5.50, a another mile handicap.  While she has run well at Yarmouth over course and distance last autumn, that was on good ground.  She too has been consistent on the all-weather of late but there has to be a question mark over today’s ground for the 11/2 shot.  Jack Duern rides.
