LINKS DRIVE LADY, a great servant to the Dean Ivory yard, bids to win the 7.40 at Goodwood tonight, a 6f fillies and mares’ handicap, for the third time in four years.
This enigmatic 8yo daughter of Striking Ambition won last year at 25/1 under Dane O’Neill and in 2013 won for Kieren Fallon at 14/1. Rated 81 and 84 respectively for those wins, today she runs off a mark of 85 but stable apprentice, Jack Duern take three pounds off. She’s a general 7/1 shot and if the ground doesn’t dry out too much at Goodwood, she has an each-way chance.
In the same race, Dean runs Rosie’s Premiere, having her first run for 236 days. The 4yo Showcasing filly has won three times and today shoulders top-weight. Robert Winston rides and she’ll be fine on the ground. At 14/1, she’s not out of it.
As for the Oaks (4.30 Epsom), the slow ground must cast a doubt over the form filly, Minding and my two against the field are Flying Turrets and Diamonds Pour Moi.
