LIBRISA BREEZE is one of two Royal Ascot runners for the stable on the final day of the Royal meeting today when lining up for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (4.20pm) and despite the Good to Firm ground he should run well.
There is no doubt, he would prefer cut in the ground but he did win The International two years ago on Good to Firm and he loves the track. Last year, he was unlucky in running and was still fourth. Robert Winston knows the horse well and although the grey is weak in the market, he looks worth an each-way look at 12/1 in what is a fantastic renewal of the race with Harry Angel, Redkirk Warrior and Merchant Navy all worthy opponents.
If Librisa is weak in the betting, Lancelot Du Lac (Robert Winston aboard) is the proverbial drifting barge, out to 66/1 for the Wokingham at (5pm) in which John Gosden’s Dreamfield is a very short 11/4 favourite. Lance would also appreciate give in the ground but he seems to be well drawn in 24 with high numbers having held sway most of the week. Some bookmakers are going six even seven places, in which case 66/1 holds some each-way appeal, although the favourite is probably a Group horse in a handicap and will be hard to beat.
