Lancelot Du Lac – runs at Kempton after long absence
LANCELOT DU LAC, now aged 10, is well handicapped going into the 6f handicap at Kempton tonight (7pm) but he is a huge drifter in the betting, out to 20/1 from 9/2.
One of ten runners going to post, the former Stewards’ Cup winner still has plenty of ability but he may struggle to shake off the younger legs today, especially, having been off the track since February.
He is drawn eight and George Downing rides him for the first time. Dangers include Typhoon Ten, Mount Mogan and Mubaalegh. However, if “Lance” was to put his best foot forward and win, 20/1 would look a farcical price!
