KERRERA faces a tough task at the weights in the Classified Stakes over 1m2f today at Chelmsford (6.45pm).
The 7yo chestnut mare was second nine days ago over course and distance in a similar contest to Cat Royale and today they reoppose but with Hollie Doyle taking over from Sophie claimer, Sophie Ralston, the stable horse is 4lbs worse off for a 3/4 length beating.
Hollie Doyle is a much more experience jockey which is why she doesn’t claim and if one of the top women jockeys can eke out some extra improvement in Kerrera (and stop her hanging) she could give the favourite a run for his money. The daughter of Champs Elysees is a 7/2 shot and will hopefully at least be in the frame.
The yard’s other runner, Charming Kid, has his second run for the yard in the 1.25 at LIngfield, a seven-runner 6f handicap and he is a 30/1 outsider under Joey Haynes.
