Dean Ivory – major entries at Royal Ascot
DEAN IVORY’S top three rated horses in the yard, Tropics (112), Sirius Prospect (105) and Lancelot Du Lac (102) all have major entries at this year’s Royal Ascot.
All three are entered in the Group One Diamond Jubilee Stakes over 6f which is run on the Saturday of the royal meeting. Naturally, it is too early to determine running plans but while Tropics’ only Ascot entry is the Diamond Jubilee, Sirius and Lancelot are both entered in the Wokingham Handicap, run on the same day.
Sirius Prospect is probably more suited to further than six furlongs these days having won twice over seven and once over a mile last year, including a Listed race at York. Lancelot Du Lac won four times last year and although the first of those victories was over 7f, the next three were all over 6f.
The ante-post market reflects the difference in preferred distance with Sirius Prospect a 33/1 shot while Lancelot Du Lac trades at 25/1.
The stable has been a little slow to get into gear this season but Links Drive Lady today won her second race over course and distance at Windsor within the last three weeks to make it three stable successes this month at a strike rate of 27%.
