GOOD CHANCES FOR IVORY QUARTET AT CHELMSFORD

Lancelot Du Lac

Lancelot Du Lac

THE stable’s four runners at Chelmsford tonight all have a good chance although only three can win as two are in the same race.

Lancelot Du Lac starts proceedings in the six-runner 6f Conditions Stakes and the 9/4 second favourite is marginally best off at the weights and should go close under Robert Winston.  Favourite Mubtasim is the obvious threat.

Eljaddaaf (Robert Winston) and Lucymai (Jack Duern) both line up in the 8.05, a 7f handicap and it is difficult to choose between the two.  The younger filly beat the eight-times winning gelding when they met at Kempton in January.  Lucymai I(7/1) s two pounds better off but Eljaddaaf (5/1) has won twice since and his last run can be forgiven when drawn wide in the All-Weather Championships. Both have each-way chances in a very competitive race.

Finally, the well-backed Badenscoth should go close under Jack Duern in the lucky last and the well-supported 4/1 shot could regain winning ways.
