Links Drive Lady – a winner at Windsor
DEAN IVORY landed a near 60/1 double at Windsor tonight, courtesy of Links Drive Lady and Harlequin Striker, one day before Royal Ascot begins.
Links Drive Lady defied another tardy start to win the 6f handicap under stable apprentice, Jack Duern, and so recorded her fourth course and distance success and her ninth career win at odds of 9/2.
Harlequin Striker was stepping up in trip to a mile but was a convincing winner on just his fifth start for Dean. The 10/1 shot, ridden by Robert Winston was securing his fifth win in just 20 races, a great 25% strike rate.
Dean Ivory – stable in great form
The yard has hit a rich vein of form this month with six wins from nineteen runs at a very healthy 32% strike rate. Harlequin Striker was the stable’s 21st winner in 2016, the most winners Harper Lodge Farm has ever had at this stage of the year.
Tomorrow, Lancelot Du Lac lines up in the Group One King’s Stand on the opening day of the royal meeting. While he is a 50/1 outsider, at least the stable could not be in better form!
