ROMAN LEGION IMPRESSES IN KEMPTON GALLOPS

ROMAN LEGION, the Solario Racing 2yo in training with Dean Ivory worked at Kempton this morning and delighted his jockey,  trainer and Racing Manager.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor arrived at the Sunbury track before 11am as scheduled, with five other horses from the yard but Kempton was like Piccadilly Circus this morning, so there was rather a queue to get on to the gallops!

Jack Duern, who claims 3lbs and who has ridden for Dean recently was aboard Roman Legion while Robert Winston rode another 2yo, Poet’s Choice.  They set off from the 6f pole at a steady pace and quickened in the straight.

Roman Legion was always going easily and eased clear at the line.  Jockey Jack Duern said the horse has speed and is “there” in terms of ready to race.  Dean was very pleased and Robert Winston, who was aboard his galloping companion, was equally complimentary.

The horse is ready to make his racecourse debut.  We just need to decide if he goes over 5 or 6f.  He may not look a sprinter but he does have plenty of toe!

Roman Legion is well on the way to being sold out but there are very limited shares available.  If you would like to become involved in an exciting 2yo with Hertfordshire’s leading trainer, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a personal viewing on the gallops. But don’t delay…call today!
