HORSES SETTLING IN WELL AT HARPER LODGE FARM

Dean Ivory with Amadeus Wolf filly

TODAY, I went up to Dean Ivory’s Harper Lodge Farm for the first time since we moved our horses last week.

It is important to let horses settle in and I wanted to let Dean become acquainted with Chiltern Secret, Gunning For Glory and the Amadeus Wolf 2yo filly before going up to see how they were doing in their new environment.

The three have been with Dean 10 days and I was very pleased with how they have settled in.  Chiltern Secret is currently enjoying some summer turn-out while Gunning For Glory and the 2yo filly have just started to be ridden.

Dean wants to feel his way with his new intake and not rush into racing them.  This morning, Dean was literally “feeling his way” as he went into the boxes and stretched the legs of both Gunning For Glory and the Amadeus Wolf 2yo filly.

Two Chiltern Secret owners came to see their pride and joy and both were impressed with the filly’s new surroundings and Dean’s approach.

They were also aware of yet another winner for the stable, courtesy of Mexicali over two miles at Kempton yesterday. The 5yo Tiger Hill mare’s win was the 22nd winner of the season and the yard boasts an impressive 18% wins/runs strike rate.

Dean is very sweet on the Amadeus Wolf filly and welcomes anyone wishing to get involved to come and see her in a private viewing.  Please call the Solario Racing office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a visit.
