HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone in racing!
Solario Racing wishes all owners, especially those who are in the four Solario Racing syndicates, a very Happy, Prosperous and Healthy 2022! It also wishes its two Gr 1 winning trainers, Dean Ivory and Amy Murphy and their staff a Happy New Year!
Last year was a good one on the track for Solario Racing’s three horses in training with Dean Ivory. Dancinginthewoods, our flagship horse owned by Solario Racing (Ashridge) ran nine times at six different tracks and he won twice (at Leicester and Newmarket’s July course) and was in the prize money on eight occasions with two thirds and four fourths. He was ridden by seven different Group One-winning jockeys
“Woody” started the season off a mark of 80 and finished the season off a mark of 81. His two wins were both over 6f but we know he stays 7f, so there are various options for this season. Last year, although he was incredibly consistent, he needs a fast pace and ideally a big field, neither of which he had very often. Hopefully, things will drop right for him more often in 2022!
The two juveniles, Twilight Bay and Sharp Distinction made their debuts in the autumn and both showed promise. The former, a neat filly by Twilight Son, owned by Solario Racing (Childwickbury) ran three times, all on the all-weather over six and seven furlongs. She showed speed in her races but her inexperience told and she’ll be seen to better effect in handicap company. The plan is to campaign her over the winter.
Sharp Distinction, owned by Solario Racing (Berkhamsted) ran three times at Kempton and was sixth on his debut over 7f before coming third over the same trip and then finishing the year with a fine second over a mile. Rated 75, he’ll have the winter off but is a nice prospect for the turf this year.
We are delighted to be having a horse trained in Newmarket for the first time and so the Buratino 2yo colt, purchased at Tattersalls in the autumn for 25,000 guineas is in training with Amy Murphy. He’s been broken in, moves beautifully and is a very exciting prospect. Available in 1/12th shares, Solario Racing is hosting a visit to Amy’s yard to see the boy on Tuesday 1 February. If you are interested in getting involved in ownership, you are more than welcome to come along. Please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com for details.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
