YIMOU makes his season reappearance today at Newmarket in the lucky last, a 5f handicap due off at 5pm and the ground has gone against the 6yo son of Kodiac as it is now Good to Soft.
Four times a winner (three over 6f and once over 5f), all his wins have come on Good to Firm, so today’s going is unlikely to suit. Also, he tends to come on for his first run of the season.
Generally, Yimou is a 5/1 shot under George Downing in what looks a trappy seven runner contest. The joint-favourites, Araifjan and Saaheq are two obvious dangers.
