GREGORIAN GIRL, second in her last three runs, is hoping to go one better at Chelmsford today in the 5.40 at Chelmsford.
The 3yo filly is one of eight runners in an apprentice handicap over 7f and she has the services of the excellent, Cieren Fallon, son of fthe ormer champion jockey, Kieren.
She is weak in the market at 7/2 but is becoming a backable each-way price and she should at least hit the frame, although her sole win to date was at Kempton and not Chelmsford. She’s not run badly there though and can hopefully make it win number two for the year.
Dean also runs Nezar and Nicky Baby, both at Lingfield (all-weather) in the 5.40 and 7.30 respectively. The former also runs in an apprentice handicap and the yard’s Luke Bacon takes the rider, claiming five pounds in the seven-runner handicap over a mile. A 10/1 shot, he’s still 3lb higher than his last win and hasn’t been in the greatest of form of late.
Finally, Nicky Baby, the mount of Sophie Ralston in the 1m2f handicap, has it all to do at 25/1 and will probably struggle to beat last time out winner, Voice Of A Leader (ridden by Joey Haynes) whom she was well behind at the track 18 days ago.
