Nicky Baby – 80/1 shot at Southwell
NICKY BABY and TRUST ME are two of the yard’s lesser lights and today both 40-rated handicappers try their hand at Southwell today for the first time, in two divisions of the mile handicap due off at 2.20pm and 2.50pm respectively.
The former has won just one race in 38 starts and has dropped from an opening handicap mark of 63 to his lowest rating of 40 today. The grey gelding’s sole victory came at Chelmsford off 42, so if he put his best foot forward, he is handicapped to win. However, that is a big “if” for the son of Dark Angel who is as big as 80/1 today.
Trust Me has never won and has reached the frame just once in 15 starts. He has too dropped from an initial handicap mark of 63 back in June of last year to his current lowest rating of 40 and that also tells it own story. He is a 16/1 shot today.
