DON’T LOOK DOWN has improved with each race and the Solario Racing (Tring) owned grey is looking to break his duck at Kempton today (6.40pm) at the fourth attempt after a fourth, third and second at Wolverhampton.
He is one of 13 runners in the median auction stakes over 1m3f and although the slight drop in trip is not ideal and his draw of 11 is equally not great, the 3yo son of Aussie Rules looks to have a solid each-way chance under Adam Kirby at around 9/2. The form horses, Caspar The Cub and Silver Crescent are the dangers, being rated 76 and 74 while Marco Botti’s once-raced Lady Farrh has been well supported and is sure to come on for her debut.
Dean’s horses seem to be running better of late and Don’t Look Down has a good chance of getting his head in front today. Good Luck to Solario Racing (Tring) who will be out in force at Kempton tonight.
Also at Kempton, the stable runs Nezar in the 7.10, a 7f handicap and again the draw has not been kind (13 of 14) but the 7yo Mastercraftsman gelding ran well at Ascot last time out and also at the Sunbury track back in June when just touched off from a one pound higher mark than today. Jack Duern rides and he looks generously priced at 16/1 for each-way purposes.
The stable could have a good day as Harlequin Striker is on the same mark for the mile handicap at Nottingham (4pm) as when winning the race last year. He’ll appreciate the good ground and at 15/2, looks to have a sound each-way chance under Robert Winston.
