DONOHOE ON GUNNING FOR GLORY AT KEMPTON

Stevie Donohoe rides Gunning For Glory

GUNNING FOR GLORY makes his racecourse debut at Kempton on Thursday (4.30pm) and Stevie Donohoe rides.

Martin Lane, who had been booked to ride, has a riding commitment at Lingfield in the 3.30 and even Martin, with or without an Aston, couldn’t make the 41 miles and be in time to declare!

So, we have the very able Stevie Donohoe, who rode a fine race on Roman Senate, on his seasonal reappearance earlier this year at Kempton.  The pair parted company on the walkway after another horse cantered past and Roman Senate flipped (literally!)  Despite the horse banging his head on the hedge and the jockey ending up on the floor, Stevie was soon aboard and the the pair finished fourth, beaten just 1 1/2 lengths.

So, we know we have a jockey who is not the least bit windy!  However, we also know we don’t have a great draw, the proverbial car park, 10 of 11.

The Solario Racing (Amersham) syndicate is just looking forward to seeing “Des” on the track and hoping he enjoys the experience.  He’s a nice horse in the making but those with previous racecourse experience will have an edge on Thursday.
