SIRIUS PROSPECT’s win at Kempton last night in the valuable Listed race over a mile was his second win at that level this year and trainer Dean Ivory’s third Listed win of the year.
Four times a winner over 6f and four times a winner over 7f, there was doubt over the 5yo Gone West gelding getting the trip. The trainer himself shared that doubt, saying after the race: “I was a little concerned as to whether he would hold on in the final furlong but he is a stronger horse than when he was third last year.” He added, “We´ll have to bring him for finals day on Good Friday but I´ll give him an easy time between now and then.”
Last night’s win was the yard’s 36th victory of 2013 and pushed Dean past £340,000 in prize money. The third Listed win for Harper Lodge Farm came on the back of Tropics’ recent Group 3 win at Ascot last month, making it a record season for the Radlett handler, whatever way one looks at it.
Solario Racing is delighted to be a small part of the set-up at Dean Ivory’s with four horses in training. They include a lovely yearling by Thewayyouare which is available in 1/12th shares.
