THE first ever National Racehorse Week takes place from Sunday 12th – Sunday 19th September when stables up and down the country are opening their doors to the general public to champion the racehorse and Dean Ivory’s Harper Lodge Farm is hosting a fabulous open morning on Saturday 18th September.
The concept of National Racehorse Week was initially the brainchild of trainer Richard Phillips and it is being driven by Arry Renton and the team at Great British Racing. The idea is to allow the public to see at first hand how a training yard operates and to show the care and dedication these beautiful creatures receive from trainers and stable staff 365 days a year.
Solario Racing is delighted to be co-hosting the Harper Lodge Farm open morning with Dean Ivory and the team. Guests will get the opportunity to see a typical Saturday morning at the Radlett yard including the chance to see stable stars Tropics and Librisa Breeze and Solario Racing’s flagship horse, Dancinginthewoods, who has won twice this year.
After watching the horses limber up in the canter ring, attendees will drive to the gallops to see the horses working on the all-weather gallops and there will also be a tour of all the yard’s facilities. The morning will conclude with some Dean Ivory and Solario Racing hospitality which will undoubtedly include a glass of fizz!
As Dean and I were keen to give the public a personal insight into the workings of the yard and wanted to get the opportunity to talk to guests on a one-to-one basis, we have limited the morning to 30 guests and I’m delighted to say the morning is fully subscribed. So please, if you have not already booked, do not just turn up on the day as we will not be able to accommodate you.
However, if you are thinking of getting involved in racehorse ownership and may be joining a syndicate, you are very welcome to book a personal visit on another occasion. Please call the Solario Racing office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com to arrange a day.
