DEAN IVORY broke the £300k prize money barrier yesterday for the fourth year in a row, after Blaze Of Hearts and Rosie’s Premiere were both in the money at Windsor.
Blaze Of Hearts, a 66/1 shot was second in a 10f maiden on only his second outing, having been off the track for 269 days. This was a very pleasing reappearance and he should hopefully go on to better things.
However, it was down to Rosie’s Premiere to put Dean beyond the £300k mark when she was fourth in a 0-90 5f handicap. This three-times winning 4yo daughter of Shamardal was staying on and may appreciate a step back up to six furlongs.
Dean had a fruitful June with eight winners at a 20% strike rate but winners are just proving a shade elusive in July, although the horses are running well with eight of the last ten runners having been in the money.
