CREAM RISES TO THE TOP UNDER CROWLEY

Jim Crowley – won on Burnt Cream at Kempton

BURNT CREAM broke her maiden tag at Kempton today over five furlongs under a great ride from Jim Crowley.

Not the easiest of horses, she ran in the customary hood and tongue tie and was held up in the early stages. She made progress a furlong from home and stayed on under a well-timed run during the final 75 yards to win comfortably by a length from Miserere Mei.

The 6yo daughter of Exceed and Excel who cost £60,000 as a 2yo started her career with Bryan Smart and only had her first run for Martin at the back end of last September.  She has run well over 5f at Kempton twice before including last time out and the 11/2 shot was better off at the weights with today’s runner-up Miserere Mei.

Martin has made a good start to 2013 under both codes with two wins, a second and two fourths from ten runs.
