RED COSSACK’S best form is at Kempton and the 8yo chestnut returns to the Sunbury track tomorrow in a Classified Stakes for horses over 1m4f.
In half of his 16 races at Kempton he has been in the first four including his sole win in 31 career starts. Tomorrow’s contest is for horses aged four and over rated 0-50 and on a mark of 49, Red Cossack is well in with many of his rivals.
On the downside, he is drawn 13 of 14 but over 1m4f that should not really be an issue. Providing he can overcome his antics in the stalls and his recent tardy starts, Red Cossack should be a major player and has an each-way chance at 8/1 under Jack Duern. Dangers include Sir Mark Prescott’s Alate and the likely favourite, Gorham’s Cave who was second over course and distance last time out.
