CLASSIC STAR FANCIED TO BREAK DUCK UNDER JOEY HAYNES

Joey Haynes - has three rides for the stable

Joey Haynes – rides Classic Star at Chelmsford

CLASSIC STAR is one of two stable runners in the same race, the 6.45 at Chelmsford today and he is fancied to break his duck under Joey Haynes.

One of 12 runners in the 0-60 3yo handicap over 7f, the half-brother to Solario Racing’s winner, Classic Charm, he has been a tad unlucky in his last two races when second on both occasions.  Two runs ago at Sandown, he was collared on the line when ridden by one of the stable apprentices,  Luke Bacon and last time out at the same track, he had no luck in running under another stable apprentice Sophie Ralston.

Today, on the horse’s 10th start, he is ridden for the first time by a fully-fledge jockey as opposed to an apprentice and in Joey Haynes, he has an excellent partner.  The horse is vying for favouritism  with Deconso but today could be the day for Classic Star and he should go very close at around 5/2.

The other stable runner is big outsider,  Sittin’ Handy and the mount of Sophie Ralston, although slipping down the weights, has shown little in two starts for Dean.  However, the first time at Chelmsford and the drop down to 7f should help and he’d have a very small each-way squeak at 50/1 but it’s difficult to see him beating Classic Star.
