George Downing – rides Charm Spirit at Wolves
CHARMING KID should be one of the favourites for the first race at Wolverhampton today (4pm), the 11-runner 0-80 handicap over 5f but he has drifted like a barge, out to 10/1.
The 4yo son of Charm Spirit, is well-handicapped and ran a great race to be second over 5f last time out at Chelmsford and although drawn nine today, he has the form to go close under George Downing.
He should not be a 10/1 chance, so it is puzzling why he’s so weak in the market. If he fails to fire, the very well supported Kick On Kick On could take advantage while Mutabaahy is another threat.
