GREGORIAN GIRL lines up in the lucky last at Kempton, a mile handicap due off at 8.45pm and the previous course and distance winner is a big price at 14/1.
She is running off just a pound higher than for her win at the Sunbury track last September and although she is drawn wide in 10, that day she was drawn 11, so clearly a high draw can be overcome.
It’s a competitive handicap but the filly has had two runs since racing resumed on 1st June and she should not lack for fitness. This is not a great race, George Downing takes the reins for the first time and she looks worth an each-way look.
Dean runs two at Windsor this afternoon, Dromiskin in the 3.10 and Dover Light in the 4.45. The former is a 100/1 chance under Sophie Ralston and looks to have it all to do in the 1m2f novice event, for which Godolphin’s First Winter is a worthy favourite and should oblige under William Buick.
Dover Light, winner over a mile at Lingfield last month is 40/1 today, stepping up to 10 furlongs. It’s a very open contest although Dane O’Neill is an interesting booking, other such as Old Friend and Molinari look to hold better chances.
