CHAMPION jockey, A P McCoy continues his farewell tour aboard the Paul Webber trained Cantlow today in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.
The J P McManus 10yo may not have shown much this season but he ran well in the race a year ago off a stone higher mark when eighth under top weight. He was ridden by Andrew McNamara that day and went off a 40/1 shot. Today at 5pm, A P is aboard and he’s one of the market leaders at around 10/1.
The horse has been the subject of an ante-post plunge in recent days, having been as big as 25/1 just a week ago. While today’s soft ground may not be ideal, the first time tongue tie could help a breathing problem and he has fair each-way claims on last year’s form. Dangers abound including Los Amigos and Empire Of Dirt.
