CAN STAR AND MAGIC CONTINUE THE GOOD WORK?

Dark Magic – runs at Kempton, 7.15

THE STABLE has started 2019 with a bang with three winners from ten runners, so today at Kempton it is down to Classic Star and Dark Magic to try and continue the good work.

The former runs at 5.15pm, a nine-runner mile handicap and the 3yo son of Sea The Moon is drawn eight of nine under Jack Duern.  He is lightly raced and has shown ability but needs to step up today to trouble the judge.  if the step up in trip to a mile works, he would have each-way claims at 8/1.

Dark Magic has been a little disappointing and his sole win on his second start came in July 2017.  In nine runs since, he has had just one second and a fourth.  Drawn four of eleven for this 7f handicap, due off at 7.15pm, he is around 10/1 for Robert Winston and down to a mark of 59, he too has each-way claims.

Neither horse has stand out form but with the yard generally in such good order, it would be no surprise to see either run well.
