BURATINO 2YO THRIVING AT SOUTHGATE STABLES

THE BURATINO 2yo, owned by Solario Racing (Moulton) is positively thriving at Amy Murphy’s Southgate Stables as I found out for myself when visiting the Newmarket yard yesterday.

There was a real early morning frost in Hertfordshire but as the morning wore on, the sun came out and it was a glorious morning in Newmarket.  There’s nothing better to put a spring in a trainer’s step than a winner and Amy and the staff were in good spirits after the win of Tarbaan the night before at Wolverhampton.  It was the 3yo’s only second ever race and he won nicely under Callum Shepherd.

The Buratino, known as “Archie” (the dam is Archange) was stood up for yours truly and his coat was gleaming even though we’re still in February.  It was then off to Racecourse Side where the horse did a warm up canter on the all-weather before doing an in-hand canter on the grass.

It was only gentle exercise but he moved beautifully under his regular work rider, Eve Williamson, gliding across the ground and he seems to do it all so easily.

After walking back to the stables, it was time for a photo-shoot with yours truly and some owners in the main quad.  Not only is “Archie” a good mover but he has a lovely temperament and he posed like a real pro.

The horse has proven very popular with existing owners and new owners and he is three-quarters sold.  Amy thinks he’ll be making his racecourse debut in the first half of the season, so he’ll have a Naming Day early April.

By Royal Ascot Coventry Stakes winner, Buratino, out of a three-time winning Arcano mare, the horse is a half-brother to 4yo Forefront, who has also won three times, in France.

If you’d like to get involved in a well-bred, good-looking, exciting 2yo trained by one of Newmarket’s upwardly mobile young trainers, why not arrange a private, no-obligation visit to Southgate Stables to view the horse and see him on the gallops?  Please contact the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com to arrange a visit.
