BLUE SKIES, SUNSHINE AND SHARES SOLD

Audience settled for the 2012 Parade

SOLARIO RACING’S 2012 Yearing Parade was greeted with beautiful autumnal blue skies and sunshine which brought out a discerning audience,  very keen to find out about our new yearlings.

As the cars purred gently down the drive into Bowstridge Farm Stables from 10.30 onwards, it was clear we were in for a good turn-out and after coffees, teas and accompanying  cakes, it was down to business in the indoor school.

Solario Racing’s five horses were led up in turn, starting with the oldest member of the party, Roman Senate.  He’s been unfortunate not to have won by now but his turn should certainly not be far away.

Then came the turn of 2yos, Chiltern Secret and Gunning For Glory.  The former has had just one run in a hot Kempton maiden and the winner, Zurigha, was beaten just five lengths in the Group Two Rockfel Stakes yesterday at Newmarket.  She is a tad weak at present but is strengthening up with a view to hitting the racecourse again early next year. The latter is due to make his debut very soon, probably over a mile.

Then the “stars” of the show entered the school to be lunged by Kirsten Smith.  First up was the Amadeus Wolf filly, a half-sister to seven winners, who is from the family of Pursuit Of Love and Rich In Love, who won the Ladies’ Diamond Race at Ascot in 1998 at odds of 33/1 in the hands of none other than…Sarah Bosley!  The filly lunged beautifully.

Finally, in strutted the good-looking, good moving Rebellion colt.  He’s already been ridden away but today, he was just asked to float on the lunge…and float he did! If he was human, he’d be breaking a few hearts!

Champagne and sausages followed and yours truly then conducted an interview with Martin Bosley about a day in the life of a trainer.  Solario Racing has adopted Marie Curie Cancer Care is its charity of the year for 2013 and MC nurse, Veronica Tarrant spoke with great passion about the work of the charity and did a great job in encouraging guests to part with a few shekels…which they did very generously.

There was great interest in both yearlings and several agreements will be winging their way very shortly to new owners of both the Amadeus Wolf filly and the Rebellion colt.
