DEAN runs at Windsor today, all double figure prices but maybe Angel Of The South will be the one to outrun her 20/1 price in the 5f handicap at 6.30pm.
She needed the run last time but has some good form at Windsor and drawn five in a first–time hood, may just surprise a few punters. Robert Winston rides and as all nine runners have a chance of sorts, a second look each-way at Angel may be the order of the day.
Cappananty Con starts the ball rolling in the 3.55, a 6f handicap but he never quite delivers on the turf. Today, he runs in first-time cheekpieces and the 14/1 chance needs them to galvanise the son of Zebedee under Robert Winston who knows the 4yo well.
Dark Mystique ran well on his debut a fortnight ago at Windsor over 6f and today, he is one of 13 runners in a novice over course and distance, due off at 4.55pm. Drawn well, he should improve but this 20/1 shot is bred to get further. He probably won’t beat the odds-on favourite, Dirty Rascal but nevertheless, he could run well.
Celtic Chieftain makes his debut at the age of five in the 1m 3 1/2f novice stakes but this Galileo full-brother to Maybe has a superb pedigree and shapes like a nice horse at home. Today he is 25/1 and the Martin Dwyer horse is probably best watched but he is not without ability.
Dean also has a runner at Brighton in the shape of Soaring Spirits in the 4.30, a four-runner 7f handicap. Kieren O’Neill rides the Tamayuz gelding who is second favourite at 8/1 and faces a task in beating the evens favourite, De Vegas Kid.
