ANGEL OF THE SOUTH (5.45 Wolverhampton) looks the pick of the stable’s four runners today which include Tropics (1.25 Lingfield), Classic Charm (3.10 Lingfield) and Dark Magic (8.45 Wolverhampton).
A dual winner on the all-weather, including over 6f at Dunstall Park, the daughter of Dark Angel was second last time out at Chelmsford and drawn 4 of 11, she has each-way claims under Robert Winston at 5/1.
Tropics is the top-rated in the Conditions race at Lingfield but it is over 7f, a trip over which he has not won since his 4yo days. However, with Robert riding him before going up to Wolves for Angel Of The South, he has some each-way appeal at 14/1.
Of the other two runners, Classic Charm under Jack Duern is 12/1 in a 1m2f handicap and if coping with the step up in trip, also has place claims at least. Finally, Dark Magic looks to have the most difficult task of the four runners and is 22/1 under Robert Winston.
