ANGEL OF THE SOUTH looks to get back to form on her preferred all-weather this evening when one of ten lining up for the 0-70 5f handicap at Chelmsford (8.15pm).
A course and distance winner off a mark of 76, she’s also won at Wolverhampton over 6f off 70. Today’s, the daughter of Dark Angel runs off 68, so if she can recapture her best form, she’s well in. Robert Winston rides, she’s well drawn in five and connections will be hoping for a big run. At 17/2, she’s worth a look each-way.
At the same course two hours earlier, Kadrizzi returns to the track after an absence of 261 days. A four-times winner, twice on the all-weather including at Chelmsford, he was once rated 104. Today, he runs off 77 in a 0-80 over 7f but there’s a reason for his drop down the ratings. He’s not won since August 2016 and only been in the first four twice in 17 starts since.
Today, he’s drawn wide, 10 of 11, so that will not help his cause either. Jack Duern rides the 5yo chestnut who trades at 16/1.
