THE Dualagi foal is now over two months old and “Albie” as he is known, after stable lad Albert, on whose birthday he was born, is doing well.
I was up at Bowstridge Farm on Saturday and at last we had some sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, so Martin decided to give Albie and Dualagi some turn out in the pen. It wasn’t the first time Albie had been out in the fresh air but he still needed a little encouragement to go into the pen!
Dualagi took a little while to get the hang of motherhood but she’s fine now and a typically protective mum although she was quite relaxed about me going into the pen to take photographs.
Albie is by Tagula (sire of Canford Cliffs among others) but Dualagi was covered earlier this year by Firebreak, whose best progeny has been Group One winner, Hearts Of Fire, who was third at Royal Ascot in the St James’s Palace Stakes, won by…Canford Cliffs. If either Albie or Dualagi’s next offspring are half as good as either Hearts or Canford, owners Inca Financial Services will have something to smile about!
