IVORY STARS MAKE MEYDAN DEBUTS

Lancelot Du Lac – runs in a £112,000 race at Meydan

DEAN IVORY sends outs his first ever runners at Meydan today courtesy of two of his stable stars,  Lancelot Du Lac and Sirius Prospect.

The former runs in the 3.20, a £112,000 5f handicap on the turf and the five-times winning son of Shamardal sealed off another good season with a win over 6f on Lingfield’s polytrack in December and is now on his highest ever rating of 108.  All his winning has been done over 6 and 7f, so dropping  back to 5f may not be in his favour.  However, Jim Crowley who knows him well and if this improving sprinter does cope with the drop back to the minimum trip, he could be in the prize money.

Sirius Prospect has won ten times and amassed over £1/4 million in prize money to date and today he runs in the 5.05, a £78,000 handicap.  Jim is also on board Sirius Prospect, who is running over 7f on the dirt, which though an unknown surface, might suit as his sire Gone West was a high class dirt performer.  He too could go well if he finds the surface to his liking.

Dean enjoyed a record year last season with £400,000 in prize money.  A win today in Meydan would put him on the road to beating last year’s total!
