Dean Ivory – record year with £400k in prize money
DEAN IVORY‘S Soaring Spirits won at Lingfield under Pat Cosgrave today to take the Harper Lodge Farm handler past the £400k prize money barrier for the first time in his career.
Last season, Dean won £367k in win and place prize money and a record 39 wins. The yard had a slow start to this year when the horses were just not firing and the first six months saw just seven wins (compared with 20 in the corresponding period last year).
However, the second half of 2014 has seen 16 wins with half of those coming in November and December at a striker rate of 18%. No wonder, Dean doesn’t want the season to finish!
Solario Racing has syndicate horse King’s Concerto in training with Dean and this son of Thewayyouare is sure to come into his own as a three-year-old.
