TOAST OF NEW YORK, by Thewayyouare, heads for the $2million UAE Derby in Dubai this Saturday and trainer Jamie Osborne believes the horse will be competitive.
It is unusual for a horse to head for a race at the Dubai World Cup meeting on the back of two wins at Wolverhampton even if the second victory was a 16-length demolition job in a novice stakes. However, Jamie Osborne is talking of this being the best horse he has trained since Milk It Mick, winner of the Dewhurst in 2003.
The horse, a general 10/1 shot for the 1m 1f 110yd Group 2 contest will be ridden by Jamie Spencer, who was aboard for the horse’s maiden win at Dunstall Park last September.
Toast Of New York is from Thewayyouare’s first crop and Solario Racing is delighted to have a 2yo from his second crop, available in 1/12th shares. An £18,000 purchase at Doncaster’s Premier Yearling Sales last August, he is from the family of several Group One winners including subsequent successful stallion, Groom Dancer.
The horse is very forward and Dean is looking for the horse to make his racecourse debut during the spring. If you are interested in getting involved in a very exciting 2yo, do come and see him working on the gallops.
Please call Racing Manager, Simon Double on 01442 877 597 to arrange a visit. Family and friends are most welcome.
