Thewayyouare yearling on the lunge
THEWAYYOUARE yearling bought at Doncaster’s Premier Yearling Sales last month has now been at Harper Lodge Farm nearly four weeks and he’s close to being backed and ridden away.
At the moment, he’s doing plenty on the lunge and while this £18k February born youngster out of a Desert Prince mare has been a bit of a lad since arriving at Radlett, he does lunge well. Whether it’s the left or right rein, he’s a really fluent mover which bodes very well for the future.
He also enjoys posing for photographs. Today, I went up to take a few shots for the forthcoming Solario Racing brochure and he behaved extremely well. There’s no doubt, lunging him beforehand helped take the fizz out of him and he duly obliged for head and body shots.
