DEAN IVORY landed a tremendous York handicap double today (34.75/1) courtesy of Sirius Prospect and Tropics, both ridden by Robert Winston.
The former won the 0-105 7f handicap in some style, beating the favourite, Smarty Socks by a length and a quarter at odds of 11/2. Having last run in a Group 1 at Royal Ascot, he was entitled to run well today being dropped in class and despite the fast ground, won nicely.
Tropics went off the joint 9/2 favourite for the 0-105 6f sprint handicap and he duly obliged…just! It was a short head back to Summerinthecity but to prolong the agony, Tropics had to endure a Stewards’ Enquiry!
Dean’s horses are flying at present. During the last fortnight, the yard has sent out five runners with three winners, a second and a third. Tropics’ win was the 25th of the season at a fantastic 20% strike rate.
Solario Racing is thrilled to be a part of the Dean Ivory set-up in very exciting times and we are very confident the stable’s success will soon rub off on the three horses we have in training at Harper Lodge Farm.
Dean is very sweet on our 2yo Amadeus Wolf filly, a half-sister to seven winners. If you wish to come and see her in a private viewing, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email us at info@solarioracing.com
