GUNNING FOR GLORY MAKES HANDICAP DEBUT AT NEWBURY

Gunning For Glory – runs at Newbury

GUNNING FOR GLORY runs tonight at Newbury for Solario Racing (Amersham), making his handicap debut in a 0-70 for three-year-olds only over a mile off a mark of 63.

The lightly raced son of Indesatchel has not run for 113 days as he has been slow to come to hand.  While he went nicely at home on Saturday, he will undoubtedly come on for the race and those more seasoned performers who have raced more recently are likely to have an edge.  He is also a horse for whom I’m not sure Good to Firm ground would be ideal but as this is his first venture on turf, it is difficult to be sure about his preferred going.

Imperial Glance is the red hot 6/4 favourite and rightly so after his 3 1/2 length demolition job at Salisbury nine days ago and he is able to run off the same mark tonight.  Another who could be a danger is the other horse making his handicap debut, Keene.  While the Racing Post has him in at 40/1 in their betting forecast, he is currently trading at a top priced 12/1.

Gunning For Glory is the outsider of the party at 66/1 and Martin Lane rides.
