SHARP DISTINCTION, the bridesmaid on three occasions and also third in three other runs from 12 starts, has a lot in his favour at Yarmouth tomorrow (3.35pm) and maybe tomorrow is the day he gets his head in front.
He ran a fine race at York when third under Tom Marquand, when probably not quite getting the 2 mile trip. The drop back to 1m6f should suit, as should the ground, currently Good to Soft (soft in places) and the jockey booking of Adam Farragher, claiming 3lbs is another plus.
He’s currently trading at around 100/30 favourite and is strong in the market. The son of Tamayuz will hopefully have his day in the sun…or showers…tomorrow. Good luck to Solario Racing (Berkhamsted) in what looks an open handicap.
The stable also runs Daniel Deronda, ridden by George Wood. He’s well handicapped and could be overpriced at 22/1.
Pride Of America bids to follow up his John Smith’s Cup triumph when lining up for the competitive Coral Chesterfield Cup at Glorious Goodwood (2.50pm). He’s up 4lb for that win and may struggle in handicap company off a mark of 110. The possible drying ground will not be a help either. He’s an 8/1 chance but Willie Haggas’ Millebosc, who reopposes on better terms compared with York is a big threat and this former French Derby third could turn the tables on Pride Of America.
Back at Yarmouth, Fillyfudge has a good chance of following up her win over course and distance (1m2f) under George Wood while Calleveryoneuknow has an each-way chance under stable apprentice, Ryan Kavanagh in the mile handicap at 4.45pm.
