PLENTY IN WOODY’S FAVOUR FOR BIG RUN

"Woody" in front at Southwell last time out

“Woody” in front at Southwell last time out

DANCINGINTHEWOODS is one of eight runners today at Southwell over 7f (6.45pm) and the four-times previous winner has a lot going for him.

He was second last time out over course and distance, just being collared by the very late finishing winner, Anif.  Up just a pound for that effort, “Woody” is still well handicapped (4lbs below a winning mark) and he has the advantage of 3lb claimer, Frederick Larson, who has been first and second on him from just two rides.

The horse only ever does enough when in front but providing there’s enough pace in the race, hopefully, Freddie can hang on to him and produce him late.

“Woody” had two of these behind him at Southwell last time (Barneys Bay and Eagle Creek) and should confirm placings on just slightly worse terms.  Chief dangers include Eligible, Tylos and the well-backed Sun Power.  However, at around 7/2 the Solario Racing runner has a great each-way chance.

Good luck to owners, Solario Racing (Ashridge)!
