SOLARIO RACING’S new acquisition, the yearling by Al Wukair went for an awayday yesterday to Ascot as part of the Great British Racing parade before racing and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Great British Racing (GBR) has staged a succession of ownership days at the racecourse this year which started with Newbury back in April and has included Windsor, Haydock, Cheltenham, York and Perth and finished with a two-day event on Friday and yesterday at Ascot.
Solario Racing was present at Newbury, Windsor and at both Ascot days with a trade stand and also at all three tracks I was able to promote the podcast, “Inside The Rails,” with co-host Phil Boyle when on each occasion we were interviewed by GBR Ambassador and former Love Island star, Frankie Foster.
GBR also enabled syndicators and clubs to parade a horse they had available in shares before racing began and just as Solario Racing paraded Taratino at Newbury in April, so we decided to give some racecourse experience to the Al Wukair colt, who is still chilling out post-sales at Childwickbury Stud before going into training with Amy Murphy in Newmarket.
After limbering up in the pre-parade ring, he walked into the parade, fourth in line behind three other older horses including three-time winner, Chateau d’If from Amy’s yard. Apart from giving a holler as he went under the bridge into the Ascot paddock, he was impeccably behaved and didn’t turn a hair!
The two days were busy in terms of racegoers and although yesterday’s racing was marred by several prominent non-runners including Constitution Hill, there was plenty of activity around the various syndicate trade stands.
The GBR ownership days have been a great initiative in introducing racegoers who are thinking of getting involved in ownership to consider dipping their toe into the water. Hopefully, they’ll be more similar events next year.
In the meantime, if you would like to get involved in a stunning looking yearling colt by Group One winner, Al Wukair, why not come and see him for yourself? He is being syndicated in 1/12th shares for two seasons.
