THE COVEX KID has been a revelation since moving to Southgate Stables earlier this year, having won four races and gone up 29lbs in the handicap and he goes for win number five when lining up as likely favourite at Brighton tomorrow in the course’s major race of the day, a mile handicap, due off at 3.40pm.
A last time out course and distance winner by five lengths, he went up 8lbs for that facile victory but he may not have reached his ceiling yet.
Stefano Cherchi rides, claiming 3lbs, as he did last time out and the 3yo son of Mehmas has a good chance of making it five wins from 10 starts. Granary Queen looks a principal danger.
