SOLARIO RACING’S Dancinginthewoods runs at Ascot today in the 4.10, a 6f 0-85 handicap and he aims to transfer his good form at Newmarket this summer to the home of the royal meeting.
He is one of eight runners, is drawn seven and Andrea Atzeni rides for the first time. The ground is Good, Good to Firm in places and hopefully, the ground will become even firmer by race time.
Last year, at the same meeting, he ran at Ascot over 7f but the ground was not really quick enough and things didn’t go to plan. A stiff six should be just what he needs.
There should be pace in the race with the likely front runner and market rival, Louie De Palma sure to set a good gallop. He beat Yimou last time out at Windsor, so hopefully “Woody ” can exact revenge on his behalf!
A hood is being applied for the first time as he has been getting rather fractious in the preliminaries of late. If that does the trick, at around 4/1, “Woody” has an excellent chance of at least reaching the frame. Favourite, Prontissimo looks one of many threats.
