FLAMING SPEAR may be nine years of age but he’s shown enough this season to suggest he can still win another race, particularly off his current mark of 80 and today the race at Kempton (7.25pm) might just be run to suit.
He needs a good pace to aim at and he should get that today with several in the field wanting to get on with things. Nine go to post in the 7f handicap and Luke Morris replaces 5lb claimer, Sophie Ralston and that could also help his cause.
The son of Lope De Vega is around 15/2 and he looks a solid each-way proposition to get back on the winning trail if things fall his way.
